The Holy Spirit is moving on the streets of Salisbury, Groups of people who last year would not come for food, because another group were around are now eating together and meeting together in one place. Doesn’t it sound like a verse in Acts …they were all together in one accord. In the NIV it says…When the day of Pentecost came they were all together in one place, suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house……Acts ch.2 We pray that the Holy Spirit will come to the streets and move on our friends in great measure. For it is the Lord who can surely changes hearts and lives.
The last month we have seen a rise in the number of opportunities to speak to people about the Lord, and have been invited into peoples homes, for a chat, only last week we spent time with a three people. We had a fantastic time, talking to them about the Lord, these people have little or no money, they live in terrible pain due to past hurts, broken relationships, abuse, and alcohol problems, but we serve a Mighty God who makes a way in the desert where there is no way. We were able to spend some quality time with these people and pray with them. One of the women said, as we left, “I feel really uplifted” Hallelujah Lord let us bring hope where there is no hope. Isaiah ch 55 says “Come all you who are thirsty, come to the waters and you who have no money come, buy and eat” If you continue to read the rest of the chapter there is a promise : So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. Lord let it be, let your word go out with power onto the streets of Salisbury.
Last month we were praying and asking the Lord to provide us with someone to undertake a sponsored event for the charity. Within the week we had two people come to us, one has offered to do a sponsored run in Portmouth for us in October, the other person has offered to do a cycle ride from Salisbury to Paris next Spring. Praise God, He is constantly providing for us.
The Great South Run – 10 mile Race around Portsmouth
 The money raised will help towards Christmas Hampers. Last year we gave out 17 Christmas hampers to people in the community, who were in need. This year we would like to increase the number to a minimum of 40 Christmas hampers. We also want to purchase, hats, gloves, scarves and thick socks for those living on the streets this winter.
