MAY has been very exciting and we have seen the Lord move in fantastic ways.
Eric the Chef has been asking about Baptism so we arranged to meet for coffee to explain the significance of Baptism. Eric met us for coffee and he brought with him “Frank” who we have fed a few times. Frank asked if he could come and watch Eric be Baptised. As we chatted over coffee about Baptism by full immersion Frank said “I would like to be Baptised”, we explained about being a Christian and how Jesus wanted to come into his life, and change him, giving him a new life etc He said I would like to become a Christian. There in the café we led Frank to Jesus, by the time we had finished he was weeping, and so was Eric, the presence of God was so strong, and there was a real sense of Joy.
On the Sunday 2nd May Eric, Frank, and Jim who had also been asked to be Baptised came with us to church and were all Baptised by full immersion. It was a great morning, and we know that these men will never be the same again. Frank said “it was the greatest day of my life” and "the last fortnight I have felt really different”.
Jim couldn’t wait to get into the pool, and when he came up out of the water his face was shinning. Please pray that these men that their love for the Lord will grow, they have already been telling others about what has happened to them, the word is getting out on the streets. Praise God
Other Men have also been asking if they can come to church with us. A Scottish lad who has been on the road for four years came to church with us, before moving off to the Isle of White, He was visibly touched, and said that he would be back.
A guy whom we will call Bryn, has recently been in hospital due to heart attacks. One day we were walking back to the car from the Banquet Run, and we noticed a man stood waiting for someone, he seemed to be there every day at the same time. Every day we would say hello and walk on, and then gradually we started chatting to him. He was welch and so immediately had a rapport with Dave. Over the months we have got to know him. Then one day he disappeared we didn’t see him for a fortnight, we were concerned, there was know way of tracing him as we only knew his first name. About a fortnight later he appeared again, he had been taken ill with a heart attack and had been in hospital. We just talked to him a little about being a Christian, he said “Oh I pray every night” etc. etc, but we felt a burden to keep him in prayer. About a week later he disappeared again, after a few days we found him sitting on a bench (not in his usual place) He had suffered another heart attack. We know the Lord’s hand is on this man and we desperately want to see him come to know the Lord, before its too late. The man has now disappeared again Please pray that we will see him and be able to share more of Jesus with Him.
Please join us in praying for more transport. The three guys who were baptised are coming to church on a regular basis now, which doesn’t allow any room for anyone else, and we know there are many more on the edge of giving their lives to Jesus.
